The majestic building is located in the historic center of the city of Galatina in the province of Lecce (southern Italy) within walking distance of the Basilicata of St. Catherine and the Church of St. Paul the Healer Tarant. In half an hour drive from Gallipoli, Otranto and other sea resorts of Salento.
The Viva building owned by the family of the same name was designed by engineer Luigi Viva at the end of 1600. Subsequently, Emanuele Orfano from Alessano, at the request of the Viva family, designed the expansion and restoration of the building, which has now been refined decorated in the late Baroque style. The facade is animated by two twin portals and a long balcony, with the family coat of arms in the center. Another feature of the building is the interior, decorated with frescoes by the artist Dall Gatt in 1914.
The building is made in several levels. The ground floor housed the stables and storerooms; going up the stairs, the steps of which are made of healing stone, on the center line we see a mezzanine consisting of two compartments and an accessory. The staircase leads us to the first floor to the common hall, where there are two entrances. One entrance leads us to a renovated apartment of medium size, the second entrance to the noble part of the building, consisting of spacious rooms, the ceilings of which are decorated with the frescoes mentioned above, made by the aforementioned artist Dall Gatt. An internal staircase leads us to an open terrace, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of Galatina and on which is a storage / storage shed. Total footage of more than 600 sq. M.
