The province of Asti is one of the provinces of the Piedmont region and has about 215 thousand inhabitants. Its origins date back to 1600 and according to the Royal Letters of Charles Emmanuel I (Savoy), in 1620 this province was already composed of 42 municipalities. Two years later, however, the municipalities would have been about 87 (some of these in Albanian territory). Throughout history there will be many municipalities that will be annexed to the province and many that will be separated (especially during the fascist period), but it was only in the period 1947-1949 that this province is recognized as an autonomous body consisting of 120 municipalities. Nowadays there are 118 municipalities. This province has always had an agricultural spirit and still today the economy is driven by this sector, very important also the typical products as economic income of the province. After this brief introduction, let me tell you about the places I consider the most beautiful from the point of view of tourism and real estate.
- The place I want to talk about is Asti, the provincial capital of the same name. This Italian town of about 77 thousand inhabitants is the fourth largest municipality in the region for number of inhabitants. Historically it has had a real importance from the commercial point of view, you should know that in the Middle Ages had full power to "mint money" and became one of the commercial hubs of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, when its markets developed trade and credit throughout Europe. Known internationally for its wine and for the "Palio Storico", an event that takes place every year in September, today this city has become increasingly important on the national and international scene. The beauty of Asti is palpable in every corner, in every building and monument, you should know that it is precisely this municipality that holds the largest architectural heritage of the late Middle Ages in the entire region of Piedmont. There are also some monuments of the Roman and Romantic periods. In short, a real open-air museum! In addition, you should know that the city has two nature reserves: one of about 300 hectares that stretches north-west of the city and has a rich fossiliferous heritage, a WWF oasis that stretches north for about 10 hectares where the landscape is really very impressive, a place where flora and fauna create a magical environment, which literally seems out of the world. Very particular then, the division of the city of Asti in 14 different districts that recall a bit 'what in the past were the parish skills. These 14 entities have their own statutes and regulations and collaborate together with the religious and social life of the city. From the real estate point of view, buying a property in Asti is possible thanks to a large number of offers (which also include some neighboring villages), as regards those closely related to the city: for a multi room the average price is 145,000 €; for a three-room apartment the price can vary from 95,000 € up to more than 130,000 €; for a two-room apartment the prices are very similar to those of a three-room apartment. However, the offers are more focused on these three types of properties.
As you may have understood, the town of Asti is a bit 'the heart of the province, all the villages that surround it are small treasures rich in history (mainly medieval) and traditions that deserve to be discovered.
