The apartment is located in the eastern part of the city, well finished of 45 sqm, can accommodate 4 people. From the narrow streets, within 5 minutes you will reach the center of the city where you will find typical restaurants and taverns, a unique way to know the art of Sicilian cuisine together with the incomparable beauty of nearby Baroque buildings. Here you can admire the Duomo di San Giorgio with the long and characteristic stairway or that of St. Peter.

Just 9 km you can reach the long sandy beaches, one of the most beautiful in Sicily.

The old town is only 100 mt away where you can admire: The Gothic portal of the Carmine church; ruins of the church of Santa Maria del Gesù, dating back to the sixteenth century; the Chapel of the Sacrament of the fifteenth century; the "rocks" church of San Niccolò Inferiore, of the twelfth century, recently discovered. Its interior conserves remarkable decorations dating back to the centuries between 700 and 1500. The church of San Giorgio is a monumental example of Sicilian baroque art. Its origin is, in part, obscured. The original structure, as claimed by the Carrafa historian, dates back to the Middle Ages, and would then be destroyed by the Arabs during their attack in 845. Roger the Norman ordered his reconstruction in the first twelfth century. Two subsequent reconstruction took place following the earthquakes of 1613 and 1693. The latter, particularly devastating, struck the whole south-east of Sicily, commonly known as Val di Noto. The reconstruction, sumptuous and magnificent as ever before, was entrusted to the famous Syracuse architect Rosario Gagliardi, who was already the author of St. George in Ragusa. The church, reopened with solemn ceremony in 1738, is "five aisles" and is rich in artistic ornaments, stucco and precious paintings, such as the "events of the Gospel and the life of St. George" by Girolamo Aliprandi in 1513, known as Raphael of Sicily. The "floor pavement" and the "treasure" of the church are particularly worthy of note. The latter includes, among other notable pieces, the "Santa Arc", a silver-plated artwork that contains the relics of the saint. Then, to make the church even more magnificent, a staircase of 250 steps, built in 1818 by the will of the Jesuit Francis of Mauro, who, almost from the Course, crossing the two underlying streets, introduces the splendid façade. The Carmine church, near Corrado Rizzone square, was a Carmelite convent. Both the church and the convent date back to the 15th century, when the religious order arrived for the first time in Sicily. The church will tolerate the damage of the earthquake of 1693 and maintains, with its original structure, an already mentioned gorgeous portal and a sumptuous "Rose" open. The interior, to a "nave", has altars on either side, one of which contains the famous "Annunciation", a precious sculptural group of the sixteenth century, by Antonio Gagini. Finally, the central altar is noticeably carved in wood with stuccos found. The church of Santa Maria in Bethlehem, Modica Bassa, along the Corso and a short distance from Piazza Principe di Piemonte, is a building dating back to the 14th century, although it retains the original structure, the only portal of the right nave. It has three naves internally and the trimmed vault is precious. At the bottom of the right nave, there is the chapel of the Sacramento, in a flat structure and covered by a orthogonal dome, with Gothic-style Arabian plumes enriched with elements of Arabic, Norman and Catalan origin. The church houses the tombs of the noble Cabrera family. The left nave houses a beautiful terracotta crib created by Father Benedetto Papale in 1882. The Church of San Pietro, patron of Modica Bassa, dating back to 1300, is still on the Course, then rebuilt after the famous earthquake. It is embedded in an elegant staircase embellished by statues of the twelve apostles on the sides. The interior, basilica and three naves show fourteen pillars supporting Corinthian capitals. The central nave is decorated with scenes from the Old Testament, while the right one houses two important "groups": the "Madonna di Trapani", attributed to Giovanni Pisano, and the polychrome "San Pietro and the paralytic" by Paolo Civiletti in 1893. The nineteenth-century convent of the "Mercedari" is today an elegant building with two museums: the civic museum, which collects archaeological evidence from the Paleolithic and Christian periods and important paintings of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries; the Ibleo Museum of "Folk Arts and Traditions", which retains a rich legacy of instruments and equipment of the old craft workshops, here entirely rebuilt and represents a real document of life and past activities. The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is annexed to the convent and its construction was due to the discovery of a slate tablet in 1615 depicting the image of Mary and the Child Jesus. The tablet is preciously preserved in the central altar of the church. The upper part of the city, Modica Alta, shows as many beautiful churches and palaces, such as Tommasi-Rosso, notable for the large stone portal and, on the top floor, splendid wrought iron balconies, supported by terraces with masks typical Baroque. A street full of bends, also this characteristic of Modica Alta, leads to the cathedral of San Giovanni, which rises to the right at the summit of a long and elegant
stepped path. Note the bell tower, which reaches the highest point of Modica, almost 500 m above sea level. The facade, on two orders, is enriched by two pairs of columns. Palazzo De Leva, in Modica Bassa, is one of the most impressive palaces in the province and today hosts some public offices and often art exhibitions. The portal, gorgeous, in Arabic-Norman style (here also called Chiaramonte's style). Palazzo Polara, located next to the cathedral of San Giorgio, is a beautiful Baroque building, introduced by an elegant staircase. The façade entirely dominates Modica Bassa and the hills above it. It is also the site of frequent exhibitions and exhibitions, as well as hosting a permanent art gallery.
